Rider FAQ

I'm a first time rider at Torq Cycle, what do I need to know?

First off, please arrive at least 10 minutes prior to class time. One of our studio coordinators will get you set up with shoes, confirm your bike number & give you a tour around the place. Our bikes require cycling shoes so you if you don't own any, we'll loan you a pair for class free of charge. If you have your own, our pedals are compatible with Delta LOOK and SPD clips.

Do I need to be in amazing shape for a class at Torq Cycle?

We welcome everyone, at every fitness level, at Torq Cycle. Your instructor will cue you on RPM and amount of resistance to use but you are the one who remains in control of your ride -- and its level of difficulty.

What is the cancellation policy?

Reservations must be cancelled at least 12 hours in advance to the start time of the class. If you cancel within that window, or do not arrive for class, you will forfeit a class credit. If you hold an unlimited membership, you will be charged a $15 fee.

Do I need to bring a towel and water?

We provide both water (complimentary filtered fountain & bottles for sale) and towels for you to use on the bike & off. We encourage you to have water on hand during and after the ride.

How do I set up my bike?

Properly setting up your bike is easy -- and super important! You'll want to adjust your seat height, seat position (closeness to handlebars), your handlebar height and its distance from the seat. That's it. Simply ask a studio coordinator to go over the basics and to find your ideal setting. We'll even record it in your rider profile if you'd like - just ask!

As for the actual location of the bike, please do not move the bikes - each and every bike is positioned in a safe place and moving the bikes can cause your bike to rock unevenly while being ridden.

I'm running late to class, what should I do?

Unless it's your first time to Torq Cycle, you will be allowed into class up to five minutes after the start time. If it is your first ride at Torq Cycle, you will not be permitted into class if you aren't checked in and ready to ride when the instructor begins class. These policies keep class disruptions to a minimum and our riders safe. Please note, if there is a wait list for class, your bike may be given away to a stand-by rider if you aren't checked-in at the studio at least three minutes before class.

Where can I place my personal belongings before the ride?

We have plenty of lockers for you to use and no separate lock is needed. For safety reasons & to ensure less distractions in the studio, we ask that you use these lockers for your belongings (flip-flops, jackets, gym bags and yes, even your phones).
