Our first TTT event of 2017 was a huge success!
We packed out Pure Barre Westside's studio for a special 45-minute abs and arms focused barre class with Susie K. and arrived at Torq Cycle for the part II of the workout mashup with Katie M. - a 35-minute cardio ride. Sufficiently sweaty and hungry - we rewarded all that hard work and effort with tacos and drinks at bartaco's westside location!
Much love to you all for signing up, bringing all that energy and for making events like these so much fun to organize! Missed out on the fun this time around? Don't worry! The next...more
For the first time, the Atlanta Streets Alive event, led by the Bicycle Coalition, chose the westside for their ASA event route! Marietta Street was shut down from Peachtree Street all the way north on Howell Mill to Chattahoochee. The summer heat was everywhere but so were the smiles, bicycles and energy created by everyone who took the streets on foot! Torq Cycle was a route host and we enjoyed meeting neighbors and others who got to know our westside a little bit better!more

Katie & Izzi teamed up for Torq Cycle's first 60-minute Dual Ride to help usher in a win for the Atlanta Falcons in the Super Bowl. Unfortunately, the Falcons didn't pull out a win but these two certainly had a blast getting everyone pumped for the showdown in Houston. Here's to that Super Bowl win NEXT YEAR! Oh, and here's a link to some of the tracks played during the ride!more
We tend to celebrate our holidays with our crew a bit later than most. BUT, we managed to get almost everyone in the same place at the same time! Here's to this beautiful group (and to the few who aren't pictured!) and all the hard work and sweat that was put into making 2016 the BEST year yet for Torq Cycle. We love this crew!more
The tradition of making New Years resolutions has been around for ages and practiced by many different cultures. Some say they are silly, others can’t seem to begin a new year without setting at least one. Either way, who can argue with the value of a concept that causes one to reflect on self-improvement each year? I surely can’t.
Check out some of the resolutions our very own team made for the 2017 year. Get ready to be inspired!
Laura Downey from StyleBlueprint joined my 9:30 Friday class back in the Fall to get a sense of what Torq was all about for a StyleBlueprint article on various spin classes in the Atlanta area. Thanks for including us in your piece, Laura! We look forward to seeing everyone back in the studio this month ... lets get ride of all those 'holiday heavies' together!more
We play a lot of music in the Torq studio but our instructors listen to much, much more. Here are the top picks of tunes and beats that bring the energy ... ride after ride.
Find the playlist here and a few reasons why some of these tracks made the list.
One of Maddie's favorites is "Temple" by Parson James. "It sounds like James is singing to entire orchestra at the world's biggest worship service. It's a song about coming out, rising up, fighting for what you...more

We still have 10 days left in our 20in30 Challenge but we had 8 challengers hit 18 rides in 20 days! So this past Saturday, we brought all 8 together to ride it out and take home the glory of Spin Class Hero status! Cody Garrish took home the gold while the other 7 gave him a run for his money!
We have 10 days to go and the rest of the 20in30 challengers are so close to hitting their 20th ride -- way before the 30th day!more
Set that GOAL and CHASE after it! Challenge yourself before this holiday season (when lives get even busier and indulgence abounds) with our first ever Ride Challenge!

Watts (also referred to as “Power” here at Torq) are a measurement defined as the rate at which energy is used (energy over time). Wattage illustrates how hard you are working at any given moment. You came to spin class to work, right? Right. So, we thought we’d share a bit more about Watts/Power to help you all achieve a new personal best while on the bike.
At the start of class, Torq instructors will ask you to find your “baseline”. This refers to a wattage that you could hold for 10, 20, maybe even 45, minutes at a speed in the 75 to 85 RPM range. It is moderately...more
From the very start of Torq Cycle, Alex & I knew the important role a strong sense of community would play in our studio culture & in our Westside neighborhood. Similarly, we know how much easier it is to reach ones goals when you're working towards it with a friend or group of like-minded individuals. We want everyone to feel as though they are a part of something when they come to Torq Cycle and that's why the TIU community has been such a great group of women to get to know.
TIU, or ToneItUp, is a fitness program that was started by two best friends - on Instagram....more
A heartfelt THANK YOU to lululemon Howell Mill for being such an amazing partner to & supporter of Torq Cycle and the Westside community as a whole. Alex is thrilled to be a newly minted Ambassador! It's with appreciation and gratitude that we think about the relationships & connections we've discovered in our Westside community. We look forward to what the future will bring! Be well & Ride Strong!more
